BUT THIS GUY IS DIFFERENT??? -------> A US oncologist and researcher will tell delegates at the COSA ASM in Melbourne today that medicinal cannabis has a clear role to play in relieving symptoms associated with cancer treatment. Dr Donald Abrams, Chief of the Hematology – Oncology Division at San Francisco General Hospital, and a Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of California San Francisco, said he would present evidence from studies demonstrating health benefits, such as stimulating appetite. “Pre-clinical evidence suggests that cannabis may both prevent and treat chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy,” Dr Abrams said. “New varieties of cannabis and delivery mechanisms are providing promise in terms of minimising adverse effects.” Dr Abrams said he was glad to be in Australia at a time when the use of medicinal cannabis was being considered. oncologynews.au/role-of-cannabis-in-cancer-treatment/
