THINGS TO BRING TO CAMP At Rotary summer camp we sleep in two-person 8X8 foot canvas wall tents with wooden floors on frame beds with mattresses; the tents do NOT have bug screening. (Bring a mosquito head or bunk net if desired.) Plan to pack your gear in a large duffle bag, a large plastic bin with firmly closing lid, or equivalent; we will keep our tents neat with personal gear stowed away. Food is provided at the mess hall family style. Please LABEL ALL YOUR GEAR. Here is a list of things to consider bringing. WEAR FULL UNIFORM and Troop hat on Sunday—we will wear uniforms each day for colors Clothes hanger—for uniform shirt Swim suit—wear under uniform or pack to find easily Sunday (afternoon swim test) Sleeping bag or two blankets (and pillow if desired)--it may get cool at night, even in July Sweater, light jacket, or sweatshirt RAIN GEAR Pocket knife Watch Day pack if desired for around camp Water bottle or equivalent (hydration bladder OK) Drinking cup (other eating utensils NOT needed unless taking cooking merit badge) Extra t-shirts, shorts, one long sleeved shirt and one long pants—we will be at camp 7 days Pajamas, six underwear, six-plus socks, & handkerchiefs Real boots plus comfortable shoes (tennis shoes OK) for around camp—must be closed-toe Toilet kit—soap, tooth brush and paste, comb, etc. Mini first aid kit and personal medicines as required—see separate requirements Towels—at least two Laundry bag (or trash bag) for dirty clothes Flashlight Scout Handbook and merit badge booklets, prereqs, and material (fishing gear?) Pen, pencil, note paper—advancement Insect repellent & Sun Screen—NO AEROSOLS allowed Small 2’X4’ rug for tent floor is PLEASANT—can share with tent mate Spending money (perhaps $40)—Sunday fast food lunch, Trading Post snacks, Rotary t-shirts, mementos, extras, etc. DO NOT BRING Any electronics except flashlight and NON-TRANSMITTING camera—ABSOLUTELY NO WIRELESS DEVICES (BSA regulations) Any food or snack Any inappropriate item Any questions, talk to a Scoutmaster SOON.
