THINK BEFORE YOU LIGHT YOUR FIRE Did you think that you would be receiving bush fire advise from us in the middle of Winter? Well we didnt expect to be issuing it either! The weather for the next few days on the Northern Beaches will see temperatures in the mid to high teens however the wind will be gusting to over 60kph. Whilst we recognize that some people may be conducting approved burn offs and some may have outdoor cooking fires we ask that you exercise extreme caution due to dry and windy conditions. Especially since it has been about three weeks without a suitable amount of rain fall If you are having an outdoor fire please observe the following: * Only light fires in properly designed and constructed fire pits or BBQs * Ensure that the area around the fires is suitably cleared of any materials that could ignite from embers * Ensure that there is an uninterrupted supply of water on hand such as a garden hose etc. Fully extinguish your fire when you are finished Just remember, it is your responsibility to ensure that your fire does not escape your property.
