THINK ON THESE THINGS: There maybe much truth in the saying ... “The happiest people don’t have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything they have.” It is a well known fact that we derive a great sense of contentment when we count our blessings rather than constantly crave for the things we do not have. The choice of happiness may well be ours, as it is in our power to choose either to be happy or unhappy. Happiness comes from within, it doesnt come from fame, fortune, material possessions or popularity. Many wealthy persons are discontent, unhappy and lonely while persons who may be considered less fortunate are relatively happy and content. Most people who are happy maintains a positive outlook on life and strive to be at peace with themselves by maintaining habits that enhance a less demanding but responsible life. They understand and practice kindness ,empathy, sympathy, compassion and wish others well. In so doing, they are free from...anxiety, discontent, depression and stress. These symptoms are the greatest cause of human misery, as they inhibit well being, good conscience and an appreciation for the simple things of life. It has been scientifically proven that kindness and happiness are relative. Kindness produces serotonin in the brain, Serotonin is a hormone that eases tension and lifts the spirits. Additionally, treating others with, dignity, love, appreciation and respect result in happiness and contentment. It must be understood that “problems” are inherent in life and there will always be bridges to cross. Notwithstanding, we should not allow challenges to deprive us of the joys of life. We must handle challenges responsibly, remembering that our happiness is fundamental to our natural existence.
