THIRD ROUND OF LARKIN25 ARTS AWARDS ANNOUNCED FOR HULL AND EAST RIDING Following last year’s Silver Award success for Best Tourism Event in England, Larkin25, who presented the highly successful commemoration of the poet and librarian, Philip Larkin, is pleased to announce the third round of its Arts Awards, which is open to artists and organisations in Hull and the East Riding. Building on the cultural legacy of Larkin25, and the Larkin Toads, the purpose of the Awards is to support exceptional arts projects to take place in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire. Two Awards will be made each year for the next two years. The maximum single award is £3,000 and the total available for the two Awards is £5,000 per year. The Larkin25 Awards are open to artists and organisations based and working in any arts discipline within Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire – this can include literature, music, visual art, the performing arts, digital media and performance etc, or any combination of these. However, it is intended that one of the two Awards will focus on the development of literature, and relate to creative writing, reading development, text-based arts etc. Applications for the third round of Awards are now open and must be submitted by Monday 16th September 2013.
