THIS ALSO SHALL PASS AWAY By Pastor Bayo Adeyokunnu 2 Corinthians 4:17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. In the scripture reference cited above Paul was writing to the Corinthians. It was as if he was trivializing what he was going through. Beloved, there will be afflictions: Psalm 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. The enemy takes our focus away from the part that says “but the Lord delivereth him out of them all” …The afflictions we go through are not permanent. For every child of God, deliverance is sure and certain. In 2 Kings 4:1-4, a widow’s husband died leaving her in great debt. The creditors had come to sell her children! This widow went to the man of God for help. He instructed her to borrow empty vessels and the rest is history. Beloved, THERE IS NO PERMANENT AFFLICTION!!! For every child of God, there is no hopeless situation. With God, NOTHING shall be impossible (Luke 1:37). For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion ( Ecclesiastes 9:4). YOUR DESTINY SHALL BLOSSOM AGAIN!!! Job 14:7-9 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground. Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant. THE CASE OF SARAH See Genesis 21:1-6 The Lord visited Sarah. As you cry to Him, HE WILL VISIT YOU!!! MY GOD WLL MAKE YOU TO LAUGH! YOU WILL NEVER EXPERIENCE GRIEF AGAIN!!! Peninnah terrorized Hannah. I SEND AN EVERLASTING CONFUSION INTO THE MIDST OF YOUR ADVERSARIES!!! The Lord remembered Hannah (1st Sam. 1:19-20). MY GOD WILL REMEMBER YOU!!! GOD WILL PUT AN END TO EVERY AFFLICTION!!! Don’t give room for fear. F-E-A-R is False Evidence Appearing Real. Faith is the opposite of fear. Mark 11:22-24 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith . Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. GOD WILL GRANT YOU EVERY GOOD DESIRE OF YOUR HEART!!! Verse 23 of Mark 11 has THREE “says” and ONE “believe”! Beloved, WHAT ARE YOU SAYING? THE CASE OF JOSEPH The boy with a coat of many colors started wearing prison garments! But God eventually turned his mess into a miracle. His affliction was a stepping stone to his breakthrough. Joseph’s enemies bowed down before him. YOUR ENEMIES WILL BOW DOWN BEFORE YOU!!! Genesis 50:18-20 And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Behold, we be thy servants. And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God? But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive . Always bear in mind that Jesus is in the storm. Don’t take your focus away from God. God is our refuge and strength; a VERY PRESENT HELP in trouble (Both the ones caused by the enemy and the ones we cause by ourselves). See Psalm 46:1 ... You should analyze the consequences before you take any steps. Cast your cares upon God (by prayer, praise, and worship) because He cares for you (1st Peter 5:7). Psalm 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. The bible tells us in 1st John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: Jesus tells us in John 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. Beloved, God inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3). The bible tells us that the destruction of the poor is his poverty (Prov. 10:15). YOU WILL NEVER KNOW POVERTY!!! Be assured that you will end well. Psalm 37:37 Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace. For a child of God, death is a blessing. The bible tells us “blessed are those who die in the Lord” (Rev. 14:13) HOW DO YOU GET OUT OF AFFLICTION? By keeping yourself holy. Draw close to God. Make him your best friend. Romans 6:1-2 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Beloved, you can’t be living in sin and expect God to continue to fight for you. You need discipline. You need self- denial. As you resolve to live holy, rest assured that YOU SHALL LAUGH LAST!!! Behind every glory, there’s a story. You may be going through your story right now but YOUR STORY SHALL TURN TO GLORY!!! Song: Just for who you are, I worship you Lord…just for who you are, I worship you Lord! The Lord gave the word; great is the company of those that published it (Psalm 68:11)
