THIS IS A LITTLE LONG BUT PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO READ IT, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT.... This is a picture that was posted by David Andrews back on the 1st of January. David dove for Harbor between 54 and 56. David sought me out and we spoke the other day. He wanted to thank me for creating this site. What he told me I feel obligated to pass on and when I do you will understand. David was in a horrific gasoline explosion in 1990 and received burns that probably should have killed him. With the skill of his physicians and nurses and his own strength and determination David beat the odds and survived. He has overcome much but he has one hurdle that maybe some of you can help him surmount. David suffers from an affliction loosely termed Memory Holes. David lived Newport Beach, on the Pennisula, in the early to mid-50s and attended Harbor but because of the trauma of his burns this whole period of his high school and college years seems to have effectively been erased. He does have some memories of the period but they are scant and fleeting. Whether you were a little kid in the period when David attended Harbor or were in class with him, see if you can dig into your own memory to help David capture more of this time in Newport Beach. Maybe he worked at a store your family frequented, maybe he hung out with a brother or sister or maybe you saw him dive at a meet. Anything you may remember might be a key to unlock the black box that is holding Davids memories of his life, in Newport Beach, hostage. Weve come together for a number of things over the last four and a half years. Weve even become enough of a tight knit community to be arranging a Reunion. If any of you know anything about David Andrews, NHUHS 56 please help. If you dont know anything about David, feel free to say a prayer for his continued recovery or just send him a word of encouragement for overcoming a seemingly insurmountable challenge. Thanks, Tom Stillwell
