THIS IS COOKIE...the 3 year old shi-tzu, who we introduced you all to on New Years Day, when she gave all of us at Little Shelter an amazing gift.....she walked! It was a little wobbly, but she did it. COOKIE was abandoned at a hi-kill shelter by her former family and was set to be euthanized by 6pm the day she arrived if a rescue group didnt step up for her. She had become paralyzed. Were not sure how this happened, we just knew she had to be terrified and needed Little Shelters help. COOKIE has since had extensive surgery to correct the problem, and still has a long way to go with her recovery. With all the work we do at Little Shelter, we sometimes get so used to doing things like this without celebration, simply because its what we do. With that said, we believe that COOKIE deserves to be celebrated for her amazing New Years gift to all of us that morning.
