THIS IS HOW SPECIAL YOU ARE TO HIM Psalm 8:4-5 ‘What is man - TopicsExpress

THIS IS HOW SPECIAL YOU ARE TO HIM Psalm 8:4-5 ‘What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honour.’ My precious friends in Christ, there are 4 things I wish to highlight to you today which show how special we are to the Lord Jesus. Firstly the Lord is mindful of us. Yes we are on His mind. He is concerned about us. Luke 12:7 says ‘but the very hairs of your head are all numbered.’ Matthew 6:32 says He knows all that we need. Yes my friends He is concerned about every tiny aspect of your life and wants you to have the best of everything. Secondly the psalmist says The Lord visits us. Yes my friends He walks and talks and lives with us as stated in Revelation 3:20. Matthew 28:20 says He is with us even to the end of the age. Yes my friends our Lord and Saviour is also our everlasting Father and He is always by your side as your shield, refuge and protector. Psalm 3:3 says ‘But You O Lord are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head.’ Thirdly we have been created only a little lower than the angels. The difference being that angels have glorified bodies. But even that will change when we are caught away to be with the Lord. My friends when the Sadducees came and questioned the Lord on resurrection, the Lord replied and said in Mark 12:25 ‘For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like the angels in heaven.’ 1 Corinthians 15:49,51,52 says ‘and as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man. Behold I tell you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed – in a moment in the twinkling of an eye at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound and the dead will be raised incorruptible and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption and this mortal must put on immortality.’ Yes we will be like the angels but we will be more special than the angels. Why? The angels do not know what it means to be lost but now found, unsaved but now saved and dead but now alive. They do not know what it means to have the salvation experience. Hence only we humans can sing the song of the redeemed. We know and have experienced the full extent of the Father’s love because He Himself gave His life for us. So my friends we are indeed special to the Lord. Finally the psalmist says we are crowned with glory and honour. Yes His unmerited favour is always upon us. Psalm 20:6-7 says ‘Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven. With the saving strength of His right hand. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.’ Psalm 5:12 says ‘For surely O Lord you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favour as with a shield.’ The Hebrew word used for favour is rason which means to be pleased with, delighted in and be held in high esteem. The Lord crowns with glory and honour and thus as stated in 1 Peter 2:9 says we are now a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation and His own special people. Beloved can you see how much important you are to the Lord. How much you are valued by Him. So how can you forsake Him and despise Him and reject Him and hurt Him? My friends let us always only be true to this Faithful and loving God. Let us live our lives only to please Him so that we may see Him face to face one day when the rapture takes place. God bless you. – Romesh Daniels.
