THIS IS HOW l ROLL My NEWEST car is a 1998. I own: 1998 BMW 740i 1997 Mustang GT 1997 Toyota Camry 1994 Thunderbird In a consumer based commercial economy its nearly blasphemous to not own newer, or simply new, cars. Its odd to me. Because if youre constantly finding yourself in the position of having to buy another new car, l question your sense of proportion or dedication. No. Not your fundamental character. Thats too much. But I dont get the constant need to have the latest. Theres nothing as fleeting as new. Everything was once new... but only for an instant... only for a moment. You can only own new until you own it. Then its used. Everybody drives a used car. So... that being said... I take care of whatever l own. My leather couches? Bought a decade ago... look like new. My kitchen appliances and washer and dryer? Only replaced when they completely and permanently fail. My chairs and carpet and televisions? Now years old. But looking good and working fine. So, no replacements in the offing. And thats most peoples approach to such things. Except cars. Its odd, really. Cars, unlike any other appliance, are a personal expression, even more... a personal EXTENSION in our consumer society. So were prompted to express our modernity and contemporariness and trendiness by the age and cost of what we drive. Old car? Youre out of touch. Youre poor. Youre behind the times. Not how I see it. I accept that in our society what we drive is seen as what we are. I cant change that. So what I drive is a commitment; a reflection of my awareness of how valuable it is, how fortunate I am, and how dedicated l get about caring for what I own and who I know. So. Yeah. I drive old cars. That look like new. And run like mad. Because I care. Thats how I roll. __________________________________ TO TRULY APPRECIATE this link below PLEASE click on the link to Lukes original brilliant commercial for his used 1996 Maxima and VIEW IT FIRST.
