THIS IS IMPORTANT. Yes, Im yelling because Im angry. Ive spent my entire life arguing against banning books. If a parent doesnt want a child to read a book, the parent can act like a parent, but keep books on the shelves. Now, the HUGE Amazon conglomerate has decided to be judge and jury and tell me which books I can purchase. Hachette, another mega company, publishes a lot of books (including those of fabulous author Shelley Coriell). But, because Hatchette and Amazon are fighting over what Amazon can charge for ebooks, Amazon isnt stocking most of Hatchettes books. That means if you want the new James Patterson - or the new BROKEN by Shelley, you may have to wait up to a month to get the book from Amazon, which now sells 50% of all books sold in the US. In some cases, you just cant get that book from Amazon. This is horrible for authors who work long and hard and wait up to 18 months to see the book released only to have sales stopped. The solution? Go to Barnes & Noble and buy it - online or at your local store. Or go to a local indie book store - an even better option. Let Amazon know we dont want them deciding what we can and cannot purchase.
