THIS IS IT On Monday morning we will file the petitions - TopicsExpress

THIS IS IT On Monday morning we will file the petitions affirming our request to have the name/person of Jerome A. Davis placed on the ballot for 20th Ward alderman, City of Chicago. We’re pretty positive/optimistic about our chances for eventual success, but we also know where we are and what we’re trying to do. And what we’re trying to do will not be welcomed by everyone (at least, not at first). I sincerely hope, in the very near future, I will be able to articulate the reasons/motivations that got us started and keep us going. For right now, I will say that, politically speaking, it’s a shame that what was once ‘normal’ and readily accepted (and in some cases, demanded) by the electorate is now considered ‘radical.’ I’ll get back. Getting this far did not come without a price, and I mean a real and tangible price. (Truth be told, money is the reason it’s taken us this long to file.) I wish I had the resources to be the sole means of support for this venture. I see why poor people don’t run for public office (or do much else that costs money). Unless you have a solid funding base, this stuff is very, very difficult. To be honest, we actually thought we had, if not a ‘solid funding base’, a number of people we thought would contribute, and they have. That number is 8. (This doesn’t include me but it does include my oldest son). 8 magnificent individuals. 8 people who feel we have something to say worth hearing. We wish and we feel there should be many more. But yeah, this is a request for money. We need it, bad. We’ve got bills that are due and overdue. And if we make the ballot (a distinct possibility) we’re gonna need more help from the same entities we currently owe. Your support/donations/contributions will determine whether or not real political power returns to the people of the 20th Ward. We’re ‘hooked up’ with PayPal. When you go to their website (https://paypal/home) click ‘Send’ at the top of the page; use the email address Jeromedavisward20@gmail; enter the amount you wish to contribute; click ‘Continue’ and you just saved a campaign that will engage the electorate and solicit their direct input in the decision-making process. Use the previously mentioned email address to ask me more.
