THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT DECISION YOU WILL EVER - TopicsExpress

THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT DECISION YOU WILL EVER MAKE: Tomorrow, much of the world will celebrate Easter. Bunnies, chicks, dyed eggs to hide, gathering of family, new clothes, baskets filled with treats can be found in countless homes. It is fun to share this with our children and be part of their excitement. Believers will emphasize the real meaning of Easter to them. The resurrection of Jesus Christ. Most churches say Easter is the highest attended Sunday worship of the year. Then all the festive trappings will be stored away for another year. Perhaps, their spiritual walk is stored as well. In the fellowship, of which I am part, we celebrate the ressurection of Christ each Lords Day. Each time we come together, on the first day of the week, (Sunday) we keep the memorial of the crucifixion, death, burial and resurection through the Lords Supper. We do this because of the example of the early church in the first century. It brings to our memory the great sacrifice given in our place on the fateful day on Calvary. Because of the resurrection of Christ, He overcame death, He kept His promise that He would rise from the dead, He died for our sins, He sacrificed his body in our place, He offered forgiveness, redemption, restoration, renewal, recovery and HOPE. When we hear the Gospel, believe the good news, repent of our failures, confess that Jesus Christ is the Son of God then be buried in baptism and raised to walk in newness of life. He forgives our sins and embraces us as His child and gives us everlasting life. It changes our lives, forever...It changes our attitude, our relationships, our priorities, our parenting, our marriages, our jobs as employees or employers, our friendships, our view of others, our view of our selves, our character, our integrity....everything about us will be influenced by the decision to follow Christ. If Christ had not risen from the dead, we would be stuck and lost in our sins...living as one without hope...how pitiful we would be....There would be no Gospel, (Good News) for the news would not be good...nothing to look forward to....such misery we would know....but Praise God....His power over death means we will too as His child. Thank you God for the gift of your Son. My love to you all. Amen djn
