Ms. Sanda Andrei Dear Madam, Following your address, sent on 07/01/2014 registered no. 10790102.07.2014 concerning the welfare of dogs from public shelter belonging to Sector 1 City Hall of Bucharest Odai Road no. 3-5, sector 1, will make known the following: A team of inspectors from the Bucharest DSVSA went to the shelter for control according to specific competencies. On inspection in the presence of Mrs. Ene Gratiela, As Manager of Odai shelter , were staying in the shelter a total of 1,230 dogs (maximum capacity is 1,000 dogs) The shelter has provided veterinary care, with three veterinarians employed preparing individual sheets input and consultation for each dog entered the shelter, the which indicate identification of each animal, clinical status and number of stall where stayed. Sick dogs entering the shelter are isolated and treated. The shelter is equipped with test (kits) for rapid diagnosis that can be used for infectious disease check, no dogs having Carre at the date of the control. Sanitation shelter is made by four employees from Romprest Services SA (the garbage cleaner services!!), having contract with the City District 1. At the time of verification, due to shelter overcrowding, could not provide optimum conditions for accommodation and feeding animals according to health status, age, physiological status and degree of aggressiveness, also could not ensure proper cleaning of accommodation, due to insufficient staff to care for the existing dogs. As a result of deficiencies found, the shelter was sanctioned by written warning, according to the minutes of finding and sanctioning contraventions in accordance with the provisions of the Government Ordinance no. 2/2001, being give a deadline to remedy deficiencies.
