THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. My friend and fellow busker Andrew Kalleen was ejected and arrested at the Metropolitan/Lorimer stop for playing music in the subway, which is a PERFECTLY LEGAL ACTIVITY. In this video, Andrew and the cop read the very law permitting his activity, which the cop chooses to ignore and VIOLENTLY RIPS the guitar away from Andrew a few times in the video, hitting him in the face the final time. Andrew handles the whole situation with a saints grace, and his audience defend him all the way through, telling the cop they like his music and reminding the cop that there are real criminals that need to be apprehended. I was riveted and moved to tears by the support the community was showing Andrew, and the patience Andrew showed in dealing with such a horrible, ignorant idiot. I want to personally shake the persons hand who had the foresight to film this. It also terrifies me that this could be Adrian, Regina, and I. That we have to fear being oppressed by police officers for performing our music in the subway, which we are completely within our rights to do. WATCH THIS. SHARE THIS. MAKE THIS VIRAL.
