YOU ARE ALL THE BEST To ppl donating. I contacted the vet and this persons original goal was $12000. The vet never gave a quote that high so when I called her out on it she lowered her goal. She claims she had $3000 of her own money to spend but again when I checked with the vet only thing Lind paid for was pain meds for the first week. The dog continues to go on with mininal care and may never walk again. You actually posted this? What kind of person are? Now the owners of Prevost vet are extremely upset with this post also as no one there has said they have given you any information nor are they allowed to with privacy issues (unless you lied, but you seem so honourable) So basically you are saying that I am defrauding people and the Prevost is not a secure place to take your pets because they do not believe in privacy of their clients. The one owner is contacting his lawyer because you are slandering the Prevost Vet Clinic. If you are willing to give a name to the person you were talking to the owner would like to know as the information you were given was incorrect. I was going to delete the post, but I feel better responding to it and letting people see what kind of person you really are. I have lived and worked in this community since 1991 and have 7 children, 5 of which live and work in this community. We have belong to St. Edwards Catholic Church for 16 years and all my children have attended Queen of Angels School. I have been taking my pets to Prevost Clinic since 1991 when I moved here. The first quote was not written down by Prevost. In fact it was given verbally by Dr. Bonnie Baines, who told my son Tristin, whose dog it is that the cost for staying there and meds and after hour call etc would be around $1,000, then the CT scan would be $975 and then the surgery in Victoria would be $4,000 and then there would be after care costs and rehab in the amount of $1,000. Then, we were asked to take Ceecee to Vancouver to see the Neurologist as it seemed there was nerve damage, she was able to stand and had feeling in her legs but no feeling in her sphincter muscle (bum) and bladder. So took her over on Saturday night and meet Dr. Lang at Canada West Veterinary Specialists & Critical Care Hospital at 11:30 pm. We were told by Dr. Baines that it was going to cost approx$2,000 plus $1,500 for the Ct scan over there. When we arrived after giving Ceecee an ultrasound and going over the X-rays they agreed to take her on as a patient and asked for $4,500 up front and then $1,500 for the CT scan on that Monday. Then depending on what was found the surgery to repair her broken pelvis and broken sacrum and nerve damage was estimated at $4,000-$6,000, plus $1,500 per night to stay there, figuring that she would be there a min of one week. So hence the $12,000 go fund me. So we decided to bring her back to Duncan as we were not in a postion to come up with $6,000 to possibly find out that it was hopeless and we wanted to consult with a couple other vets and naturopaths also. Let’s not forget the cost of transportation, hotels and food and missing work. Ceecee was admitted back into Prevost Vet on Sunday morning by Dr. Baines, at midnight on Sunday the neurosurgeon called my son Tristin as well as talked and faxed over his recommendations for little Ceecee. He suggested that the surgery should not be rushed into at this point and time as she was able to stand up, so he felt she would probably heal in time with crate rest for 2 to 3 months. This was not say that the Ct scan shouldnt be done when the swelling has gone down. The swelling needed to go down so they could assess how much movement and actual nerve damage there was. So on Monday we brought Ceecee home to start crate rest with medications twice a day and hydrotherapy. I have not been able to go back to work since as I am the one taking care of her. So to date I have now missed 5 days of work and have asked for a leave for 6 weeks (no pay for me). So we were going to have the CT scan at 2 weeks in to assess, but then the hematoma exploded and she was taken back in yesterday and is having more surgery for that today. So yes, the cost change and if for any reason I collect more money than we actually need for Ceecee I already talked with the vet to donate it to any people that they feel would need help in this kind of situation. Meaning a life or death situation because someone does not have the money to pay for their pet to get well. I hope this answers more of your assault to my family and Prevost Vet and Ceecee and to all the wonderful warm people out there that are not judgmental and do not feel the need to sabotage. The one thing I will say Tiffany is when you decide to go walking around in someone elses life you open yourself up to people walking around and judging you in yours. Be careful you might think you are perfect, but the rest of the social media work may not. I feel very sorry for you that you feel the need to something like this without any definite proof and once again I invite you to come with me to Prevost Vet and face the music there with me in person.
