***THIS JUST IN FROM THE BIZUNG SCHOOL***STUDENTS TO COMPETE IN NEW MUSIC GHANA FESTIVAL! My name is Alhassan Ayisha , a student of Bizung School of Music and Dance. To start up with , I would like to share with you the experience I have and what I feel about the upcoming live band music competition called New Music Ghana here in Ghana and precisely the northern region Tamale. Bizung School of Music had an intensive rehearsal to enable us to win the first round of the competition in April—a large group of students performed a traditional song that we changed around to include: electric guitar, bass, drums, xylophone, gonje, keyboards, kplango drums and djembe and singing. I believe that we are going to be the winners of this whole competition because we have put our best into it and our teachers have been so good to help us and teach us their best. Also when we were called upon to perform in April in front of the judges, we did a marvelous live band performance. We blended local and western instruments, which I realized was more creative than the songs that our competitors brought since they were all playing music from their churches or existing music . It also gave us more idea of what to create in addition to what we already have so that we would knock them all out on the competition day and take the win position, which we intensively worked and are still working toward. Now we are polishing up and anxiously waiting for the d-day. So this made me to have full feelings that though we have not finished the competition yet, the good work that we and our teachers have done with what we are going to present there, we are going to win the competition. The competition is coming live on 13th July 2013. BIZUNG SCHOOL ALL THE WAY!
