The US Supreme Court backs Oklahoma over Texas in water dispute: The U.S. Supreme Court issued a unanimous ruling in favor of Oklahoma in a dispute between Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) and Texas’ northerly neighbor. In the case, TRWD ws seeking permission to purchase excess water from reservoirs in Oklahoma. Oklahoma had recently passed laws that prevented the state from selling to TRWD, which TRWD alleged were contrary to the 1980 Red River Compact. The NTC filed an amicus brief on behalf of TRWD for the case.
