THIS MORNINGS LETTER TO MY MP: Dear Jonathan Reynolds, Thank you for not even acknowledging my last email about Gaza which outlined the unilateral decision of this criminal cabinet to ignore the wisdom of every MP present during the HoC discussion on Gaza. Instead of imposing sanctions, boycotts and divestments recommended by the majority of MPs, the cabinet blatantly misrepresented the House by saying the government staunchly supports Israel. Can you explain to me what the point of democracy is if so many MPs have shown common sense and good heart here and are still ignored? You are not only insulting the people of Gaza who die daily because of your inaction, you insult the very system of democracy you represent. It is abundantly clear to the people of this country that our parliament is acting in the interests of trade agreements rather than humanity. The scenes in Gaza show the bombing is indiscriminate. Children now make up 25% of the 500 killed. There has been a massacre in Shujayea. Tens of thousands of people have been displaced. Medical supplies are running out. This is a humanitarian crisis. Israel are acting against international law and have spat on the Geneva Convention. The UKs continued inaction in coming to the support of the people trapped in Gaza, the UKs continued inaction in the face of genocide, the UKs continued inaction in the face of a people trapped and unable to protect themselves in the face of superior military might is tacit approval of this slaughter and it must stop. And stop today. The people of this country have made their feelings known when 150,000 of us marched this weekend to say free Palestine. The Members of the House have made their feelings known. When are our government going to accept the responsibility for sending £18bn of arms to what is quite clearly a rogue state? When are our government going to act to stop this tragedy? When are our government going to start representing their people? Please read this letter on the floor of the House of Commons. Yours Sincerely, Jenny Ross
