THIS Sunday, Dec 7th.....10am-Noon...Dont forget the Annual Meeting! Todays enews will have the agenda items; were keeping it simple so there will be plenty of time for discussion, Q&A, etc. One of the BIG problems to discuss is the failure of members to participate in the health of Nahalat Shalom by serving on the board. Weve pared down the meetings commitment by holding two 2-hr meetings per month (only very occasionally does something arise that requires a special meeting). Typical responses to being asked to serve on the board is Im too busy, I work, I have kids. Most of us have been there. But, if you are a member and have not volunteered or been asked to serve on the board....think about it. Are you really too busy to donate 4 hours a month to help guide the synagogue toward a strong and healthy position? Almost every past and present board member has worked or is working...is or was very, very busy...has or had family responsibilities. So, if you are willing to consider serving a two-year term, please notify Linda McCormick at mclindanm@gmail before Sundays meeting. (PS-Former Vaad members are VERY welcome to return for a term. And members who are retired....arent you bored? Join the Vaad...spice up your life!)
