Here is the famousillustration of the time when - the wolf shall live with the lamb, the leopard shalllie down with the kid, the calf and the lion and the fatling together, and a littlechild shall lead them. The cow and the bear shall graze, their young shall lie downtogether; and the lion shall eat straw live the ox. The 19th Century artist EdwardHicks signature paintings were of this time of what he called the PeaceableKingdom. This is a wonderful passage to share with people who arent sureabout the presence of animals in heaven - sure sounds like heaven to me! I willalso focus not only on the peace which will come to the animals with the SecondAdvent, but also the peace which has already come to us with Christs FirstAdvent.May Christs peace energize you to join us in worship each week.In Christs Love and Service Together,BillRESTORED TO ETERNAL LIFE -Henri J. M. Nouwen Bread for the JourneyOne thing we know for sure about our God: Our God is a God of theliving, not of the dead. God is life. God is love. God is beauty. God is goodness.God is truth. God doesnt want us to die. God wants us to live. Our God, wholoves us from eternity to eternity, wants to give us life for eternity. When thatlife was interrupted by our unwillingness to give our full yes to Gods love,God sent Jesus to be with us and to say that great yes in our name and thusrestore us to eternal life. So lets not be afraid of death. There is no cruel boss, vengeful enemy, or cruel tyrant waiting to destroy us -- only a loving, alwaysforgiving God... eager to welcome us home.2014 POINSETTIAS - BETHEL28 plants were ordered this year to grace our sanctuary.
