THIS is a perfect example of why to re-do existing pieces! A recent client of mine wanted to update her dining area into a more modern look with slight distressed darker colors. The problem was- she spent $200 EACH on her existing chairs from pottery barn and could not sleep at night knowing she let that kind of $ go out the window. This is the exact chair, they still sell, with the exception that that the existing chairs were light oak. Pottery Barn NOW sells this style in the black like my after pics (for $179 to $250each). You can pay me $20 to $25 a chair, thats 2 base coats, 2 chalk coats, sanding, & 2 coats polyurethane! ;) (Apologize for the pic quality). Huge difference- same quality- fraction of the cost!
