THIS is very much what living with Lyme disease is like. What a brave young man for sharing his story and for not giving up the fight. I have days where I want to give up the fight,,especially when both the Lyme disease and the Graves disease gang up on me and kick my skinny underweight little butt at the same time~! As they are doing right now. Almost equally as bad as the pain,,is the lack of support by doctors. He writes about it here in his story,,but I know about that first hand. Just this past Saturday my primary said to me...................Im not so sure Im willing to blame your pain on Lyme. I want to run some blood work and see if maybe its RA or fibromyalgia. Its most likesly something else. Yeah,,I know what that means. Something else that more is known about that can keep me coming back to her again and again,,and filling prescriptions again and again. Ok. Let me get this straight. I was diagnosed with Lyme 10 years ago. And have tested positive for it numerous times since then. Lymes causes severe pain in all the joints of the body. I have severe pain in all the joints of my body. Lymes is debilitating,,causes fatigue and headaches,,all of which I have. Ummmmmmmmmm ??? Its about MONEY. The way I see it is that they dont take this disease seriously,,even tho people die from it. They dont take finding cures or treatments. Insurance companies rarely cover the few unconventional methods that seem to help. Some people go all the way to Germany to get help. And not enough money goes into funding research for this deadly serious disease that has literally taken over the east coast of the U.S. and has spread to the rest of the country and around the world too. I just read the living hell this poor boy went thru,,and although my case is not as bad as his,,I can relate to much of what he had to say. Sorry for the rant folks,,but I just HAD to get that off my chest~!!
