THIS is why Ive cut all refined sugar out of my diet. Im a type 2 diabetic and I just feel better when I have no sugar at all. Summary of the video: -Sugar/carbs becomes fat in the body, makes one obese. It is being argued as the MAIN REASON why “obesity” (and all the diseases associated with it) has become an epidemic. -It DIRECTLY causes metabolic problems, fatty liver, insulin resistance, high blood pressure, and diabetes. This is not highly known. -Fructose is a cheaper source of sugar, found almost everywhere (juices, sports drinks, bread, sodas, sauces, etc) -Sodas have lots of salt/sodium and caffeine, which makes you more thirsty, so you can drink it more. To make it taste better, they add lots of fructose to mask the saltiness. -Fructose does not trigger the brain to tell it that you are “full”, you end up eating more because of it. -This doctor believes “Fructose”, specifically, should be banned like “trans fats” are. But ALL SUGAR, in the quantities that the US consumes, is harmful. The video is long, there is some scientific jargon, but the overall message is clear.
