THIS right here, I wish was me.... I wish I knew what an HBCU was when I was looking at colleges to go to and play hoop for...I would have picked THIS life instead of Gonzaga, ANY DAY! I most certainly would have chosen THIS SISTERHOOD, hands down!! I dont regret my journey, however, I know I missed out on a golden opportunity in my education and development as a Black Woman, all because I didnt know this life existed for me...knowing my TRUE history of where my people came from PRIOR to slavery, knowing my importance and finding the essence within me, understanding my worth, having unlimited sisters & best friends for life, is all Ive ever wanted, when I was growing up. No knock against Kamiakin, Juanita, Shoreline or Gonzaga, but I sure didnt have this kind of love and oneness shown my way through my most critical period of growing up Black in America....
