THISDAY THURSDAY September 5, 2013 MINISTER HARPS ON IT SYNERGY AMONG GOVERNMENT INSTITUTTIONS The paper reports that the minister of communication technology, Mrs. Omobola Johnson called for synergy among the ‘nation and sub nation IT institutions. It says the minister made the call during the meeting of National Council on Communication Technology in Akure recently. According to the paper, the minister said ‘synergy among national and sub national (state government) is of crititcial importance if the current Information and Communication Technology ICT gains are sustained. The paper further reports the minister to have said that as time goes on, the council would streamline the procedure along the line of similar sector council and proposing a bi-annual meeting of the council. The minister was reported to have said that to achieve the result government has created ICT cadre in the ministries to ensure the right skills and capacity to pursue important e-government initiatives are put in place. She informed that the major mandate of the council would be to standardize and deliver all the ministry websites on the.gov.ng platform.’
