When President Kennedy hosted a White House banquet honoring Nobel Laureates he stated: I think this is the most extraordinary collection of talent, of human knowledge, that has ever been gathered at the White House--with the possible exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone. Jefferson was also deeply racist, buying and selling hundreds of slaves, rationalizing slavery more than once.
