THOMPSON REUTERS Join the Reuters real-time news operation producing headlines and stories based on companies from around the world, with a strong focus on U.S., UK, and Canadian coverage. Essential Responsibilities: • Write headlines and stories accurately, quickly and with high standards of credibility, in accordance with Reuters principles and operating standards. • Identify market-moving figures and comments to prepare news stories from sources including electronic news releases, conference calls, Webcasts and press conferences. • Build and maintains contacts and sources to develop deep subject expertise. Coordinate coverage with equities reporters in North America, Asia and Europe. REQUIRED Skills and Experience (must have) (include associated number of years): • An ability to write clearly and quickly to meet Reuters reporting standards and principles. • A sound command of grammar, spelling, punctuation. • Comfort with handling financial data and facts accurately and quickly. • An ability to work under time pressure and undertake shift work • Ability to work under shifts which is on rotation basis. PREFERRED Skills and Experience: • Typically 0-8 years experience writing and reporting business news. • Knowledge of corporate activity and stock markets, or an ability to gain such knowledge quickly.
