THOUGHT FOR THE DAY TRUST THE LORD BECAUSE HE IS MORE THAN ABLE! The Scripture does not promise Christians immunity to the problems of the world. If you really want to hear the truth, then the Scripture states in the book of Psalms that: “The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time” (Ps. 43:19 NLT). The question is this: How does the Lord come to rescue the righteous? The Lord requires us to trust Him with all our problems and cast them in prayer to Him. To this, the Scripture affirms: “Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you.” And at another time it says: “Then if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land” (2Cor. 4:17; 2Chn 7:14 NLT). So we have the good news to inform us that even though we may go through hardships and difficult times our Loving and Gracious Lord will always come to our rescue. However, the thing is this, when God created us He gave us our will power to make choices. When we make good choices they are to our advantage, gain. However, when we make bad choices they are to our disadvantage, we pay for that. It is because we have our will power to determine our fate the reason there is judgment. God is almighty. With His almighty power He created us. However, He did not create us like robots or machines but gave humans minds and will power. He has said to us in our troubles, hardships and situations that we cast them unto Him the almighty and capable God for He cares about us. All that God requires from us is our simple obedience and faith in Him, that’s trust and respect for Him. When you have a financial problem and a rich man you know and trust tells you to cast that problem to him, that problem is now taken off you to the capable man, the rich man. Because of our will power that we alone have control and determination over it, when we do not obey God and surrender our problems and cast them to Him, we tie up the hands of the Almighty and Loving God in our situations. Even what God requires of us is not something different from the way the world system works. When you have an overwhelming situation or problem and you do not ask for help from loving and capable individuals, you keep your problem intact to yourself for it to remain, perhaps grow and continue to bother you. Last, let us examine the love God has for us as His new creation sons. As the Scripture states in the gospel of John thus: For God (the Father) loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” Now think deep about this! When God has so much loved you to this extent, to come and go through the excruciating pains that He went through for you, what else will this Almighty, Loving and Capable God will not do for you when you trust and obey what He instructs you to do to enable Him accomplish your situations for you!
