THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: YOU ARE A NICE LITTLE BOY Some time ago - TopicsExpress

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: YOU ARE A NICE LITTLE BOY Some time ago I read a story that really impressed me. A rich very successful businessman, who was known to be a very kind person, was asked what had made him the one he was. The business man answered by telling a story of a little boy - let us call him ‘Joe’. Joe was an orphan and as far as he could remember he had never heard a kind word spoken to him. It did not seem to be anyone who really loved him, except his little dog. One day he and ‘Doggy’ was walking up the busy town street. They passed an old lady who was carrying rolls of fabric. One of the rolls fell out and as she stooped to pick it up, more rolls fell on the payment. The little boy quickly came to her aid. As the lady was about to continue on her way, she turned to the boy with a big smile, looked him into his eyes and said with a warm, soft voice: “You are a nice little boy!” The words hit the boy like rays of sunlight. He could feel them in his whole body. It felt SO nice. He quickly took his dog to a secluded little spot up in the forest, sat down on a shrub and meditated on the words and the tone of the voice: “You are a nice little boy!” He called the dog close to him and said with the same soft voice: “You are a nice little dog!” The response was immediate and overwhelming. The dog wagged his tail and clung closer to Joe. “You are a nice little boy!” Joe took out a piece of a broken mirror he had in his pocket. As he examined his own little face he discovered how dirty and filthy he was. He quickly found a brook and washed his face nice and clean. He stood up strait. “You are a nice little boy!” He wanted to live up to those words… And at that point in the story the rich businessman turned to his audience and said: “That boy was me, and that little town was the town we all live in today. The place where I have my business is where that old lady uttered those words…” Never forget the power of kind words! “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christs sake hath forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:32
