THOUGHTS OF FIREFLIES: So many thoughts and realizations swirling around my heart and mind, I dont know which to examine first. Like a child catching fireflies on a midsummer night, as soon as I focus on one, ten more light up and call out for my attention. But instead of chasing after them, Ive decided to take a lesson from watching real fireflies this past summer. You see, when you chase after them, they only fly away. Sure, you can still catch some, but if you just sit back and joyfully watch the whole beautiful orchestra of light unfold, you catch the beauty of the Whole instead of just one. And a magical thing happens when you become still, and simply sit in the wonder of life unfolding. The fireflies become curious. They feel your loving vibration and come closer, some hovering and dancing playfully in front of you, while others will land delicately on your skin and share their light with you. The same is true for bits of wisdom, and light-filled realizations. If we go into the stillness, the ones that are meant to be examine more closely will come to us on their own
