THREE TV FACES TO DEBUT IN A FILM Sunayana Suresh ( Times of India 13.09.2014) Journalist Gowrish Akkis debut directorial film Cinema My Darling deals with the film industry, as the title suggests. It has Vihan Gowda and Sanjjanaa in the lead. But, alongside this pair, there will be three other characters who are pivotal to the script.Director Gowrish, who is himself a known face on the small screen, has chosen three girls -Manasa, Manjula and Panchali -from the television industry to portray these characters. “The three prominent female roles in my filmare played by popular faces on television. While their familiarity was a reason behind choosing them, I did audition them for the roles,“ says Gowrish. About the reason behind each girls casting, he says, “Manasa has an expressive face and she suited the character I wanted, which is that of an innocent girlnext-door. Manjula plays a modern, bold character and I felt she has what it takes to suit that role. Panchali may have a relatively shorter role, but her character is that of a talkative girl, who needs to make an impact.She seemed to fit that bill.“
