THREE YEARS!! This is the group that shut down San Onofre. From San Clemente Green: Tuesday, 3/11/14, is the third anniversary of Japans most recent nuclear nightmare, following Hiroshima and Nagasaki. An earthquake and tsunami hit Fukushima harder than industry experts had allowed for, resulting in a terrible meltdown that continues today. 160,000 refugees still face the prospect of never returning home due to radioactive contamination. Meanwhile, their government (and ours apparently), are pushing hard to restart nuclear reactors in Japan, ignoring the fact that they have been unable to get a handle on this radioactive mess which only continues to worsen while unknown amounts of highly contaminated water reaches the ocean on a daily basis. Im hoping that you can join us Tuesday evening in solidarity with our friends from Japan. Jun Hori will finally be allowed to share his documentary, METAMORPHOSIS, with us after being restricted from showing it by his previous employer, NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation). It cost him his job, but now he is CEO and Founder of 8Bit News. Jun will be showing his 60 minute documentary at BC Space Gallery - 235 Forest Ave - Laguna Beach, 949.497.1880. The reception begins at 6:00 pm with the film showing at 7:00 pm., (allow some time to find parking and the easy-to-miss the single door entry to the gallery upstairs). Two other powerful movie trailers and a panel discussion (including Harvey Wasserman of Solartopia) with Q&A will follow. The two movie trailers to be shown will both be powerful documentaries intended to strengthen anti-nuclear bonds across the globe. We will learn lessons about the consequences of nuclear meltdowns along with strategies for a nuclear free and sustainable planet. Each documentary is need of financial support to become a reality, so donating to them would be a meaningful way to commemorate the tragic event of three years ago. Please see below for more details.
