*************THRILLING TUESDAY*************** Violence always marks the end of a relationship. That was what Ira Einhorn wrote in his Journal. Ira Einhorn (born May 15 1940) also known as The Unicorn Killer is an American convicted murderer and former environmental advocate in Philadelphia. He called himself the Unicorn, because Einhorn and Unicorn translate as One Horn. He described himself as the King of the Radicals, the Prince of Flower Power, the Guru of Peace and Love. All that was a big irony because this seemingly romantic guy killed his girlfriend Holly Maddux by beating her to death in 1977 when the girl had enough of Einhorns abusive treatments and requested for a break. After killing Holly Maddux, The Unicorn kept her in a closet in his apartment and kept this dark secret to himself for 18 months until neighbors were complaining about a terrible stench coming through the floorboards accompanied by an occasional oozing of putrid brown matter that stained their ceiling. While detectives were piecing up the connection between Einhorn and Holly, they finally knew something wasnt right and they decided to ask for a search warrant to raid Einhorns house. The constant refusal of Einhorn in allowing the building foreman to check the closet from which the stench was coming from urged the police to be more interested in the piece of furniture. Detective Chitwood snapped the lock securing the closet with a crowbar. The detective yanked from the shelves one damaging piece of evidence after another. Hollys suitcase, packed. Her purse, full, including her drivers license and social security card. Boxes and bags of womens clothing and effects and finally the detective found what he came for. You found what you found was all Einhorn said when the detective exclaimed his finding. In 1981, just days before his murder trial was to begin, Einhorn skipped bail and fled to Europe. Einhorn traveled in Europe for the next 17 years. Back in Pennsylvania, as Einhorn had already been arraigned, the state convicted him in absentia in 1993 for the murder of Maddux. Einhorn was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Does a possessive love really turns one evil if things dont go right?
