THROWBACK THURSDAY - Ok, my TBT is about technology... a few of my peeps here know exactly what this is, as we were all (besides good-looking) distinguished members of the ARMY SIGNAL CORPS :) This is a Digital Subscriber Terminal Equipment (DSTE) - BEFORE mobile technology and home computing, this is how we communicated, and of course, just about the only place you could find a computer was in a government agency, more specifically the Armed Forces. I was fortunate enough to actually operate one of these while stationed in South Korea (damn I feel old writing this!) Then came the MAXI, SRT, MATE (cant remember in which order or their exact acronyms), then desktop computers WITHOUT Windows!!! MS-DOS ONLY! Meaning manual commands and black and green screens. As technology evolved, so did the Army and our jobs were reclassified into other jobs. I sought other opportunities in the military and ended up in the journalism world.
