THROWBACK THURSDAY Year; 1985 Place; G-4 Range, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina While serving in the Marines in the 1980s as a Marine Combat Engineer, I had an opportunity to be an instructor at the old G-4 Range. I instructed other military personnel in such Combat Engineer subjects as Demolitions and Explosives, Landmine Warfare, and Field Fort. Posted Pictures Picture #1 The old sign for the G-4 Range that would greet the students when they entered the school grounds by the range house. Picture #2 Marine Corporal Ralph E. Laitres holding a home-made Bangalore made out of two engineer stakes and C-4 explosives. Picture #3 Here I am (standing in the middle) with two other G-4 Range instructors. We are holding a manufactured Bangalore. Picture #4 This is me having my morning joe before a Friday Demolition shoot down range. As you can see, my desktop is loaded with explosives.
