THUNDERSHIRT UPDATE (Merrie says its a hair shirt) It didnt work. The small one was too small, and she moaned when we put it on her. Clearly she wasnt happy; her little butt was tense. The bigger one was too big and she stepped out of it. We decided that the prozac therapy plus pheramone collar are enough. Indeed, she is getting her old swagger back. I sometimes see her knocking old Lance out of the way of the food dish. She still adores him. When she felt insecure, she followed me around, a velcro kitty. It was mostly cute. Now on treatment, shes becoming her old top-kitty self again. The TAIL is still getting licked, however, so perhaps this nervous habit will be the last to go. Shes only been doing the treatment program for 3-4 weeks now, and they say 6 weeks before real progress is made. Our vet thinks 6 months will be a good idea. bTW, Merrie Rose LOVES her pheramone collar and the prozac is working well. She smells delicious with that pheramone collar. I always know shes near when that drift of rose and lavender passes my nose like a seductive silk scarf. Its Merries own girly perfume and she likes it. Makes me wish for one.
