THURSDAY 22ND AUGUST, 2013 THE GREATER ONE IS INSIDE ME PST.HETTY Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4 (KJV) The word of encouragement from the writer of the book of john is instructive. We see the conflict arising from two separate camps the 1st is the camp of Christ and the 2nd is the religious sect as well as the community. Change I have come to terms with, is the only constant phenomenon. People resist change even when it is made from a bad condition to usher in a good one. The devil inspired rulers; political and religious rulers to persecute Christians; at this point, the focus is on the brethren to sustain their zeal for the work. Satan is the name of the devil. It connotes something, which is the opposer of anything good or from God. So do not be surprised if the devil tries to resist you not for doing bad but for doing well especially when it relates to the gospel. Paul resisted the church; he killed a lot of folks. Unknown to him, he was influenced by the devil. The more the church was tormented, the more disciples were tormented, the more the gospel spread. The grace we carry as sons of God cannot be rubbished by the devil. God is the one inside us; his influence, power and authority out weight that of the devil. People are sometimes scarred of what the devil can do, but we must know point blank that the resident power of God in us is far greater than that of the devil. God’s spirit in us rises above the intimidation of the devil and subdues him. PRAYER OF DECLARATION No force or higher powers can contend with me because I am plugged in to a higher power that subdues all powers. The greater one lives inside of me, praise God.
