THURSDAY, 4TH SEPTEMBER YOUR WORKS FOLLOW YOU TO ETERNITY “And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, write, blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea saith the spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.” Rev 14:13 The subjects pertaining to grace and works have not been properly taught in many Christian circles. And because they have not been properly taught, they have not been understood by many as well. Some believe that all that matters is grace and that there is no need for works. Others also rely on just their works and ignore grace. But the word of God shows us the respective places of both grace and works. We are saved by grace that is what the Bible says. When it comes to the subject of salvation, it is hundred percent grace. No work of man can give him salvation. Salvation has got everything to do with the work of Jesus Christ and that alone. Anyone who chooses any other means apart from the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ cannot be saved. But after salvation, we make progress by our works. That is why the subject of faithfulness is so central in the Bible. The Bible shows us that it is required in stewards that a man be found faithful. It was a message to believers. In the parable of the talents, the first two servants who were efficient and productive were commended for their faithfulness and were subsequently promoted. Works are the only means by which placement can be determined in the kingdom. Paul, the Apostle, being mindful of this truth said even though he had the grace of God upon his life, yet he labored abundantly than everyone else. (1 Cor 15:10). He could therefore speak of crowns and rewards. The text shows us that death is not the end of your works. The only things that can follow a believer from this realm to eternity are his works. You enter by His grace to present your works. Therefore it is not enough to say you are a believer. You must produce works, which promote the kingdom of God. In that is your elevation and establishment. Never forget that your works follow you, act accordingly. Shalom! Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I have been awakened to this truth from your word. I know that my works will follow me and therefore must have some to show forth. I receive grace to produce works consistent with my assignment here on earth in Jesus name! Ps. David
