THURSDAY, 9TH OCT 2014 HOW TO ENCOURAGE THE BLESSING “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.” (Psalm 1:1) The blessing of God is a spiritual enablement on a man’s life that causes everything he does to turn out right. When working in his finances, the bible says that it makes the man rich. In his mind, it keeps him in perfect peace and keeps his body in sound health. But then, just as the case is with the grace of God, there are things that a man can do and steps he can take to frustrate the working the blessing. As such, its manifestation and effectiveness differs among different people. The psalmist here shows us one of those ways that the force of the blessing can be reduced in a man’s life. He does this to show us those areas of life we mustnt venture into if we hope to have the full manifestation of the blessing. First on the list is the source of your counsel when you need one. If you belong in the category of believers who always seek counsel and advice from ungodly and unbelieving men, he says that the working of the blessings (favor, advantage and enablement) of God will be hindered in your life. God’s force of prosperity will not be freely expressed in such a life. The Amplified Translation puts it more succinctly when it says: “Blessed (happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather.” (Psalm 1:1 - AMP) DIGGING DEEP Prov 4:14-15 PERSONAL STUDIES Matt 3-4 PRAYER/CONFESSION: Father I thank you because I am a blessed man who is locating and taking possession of his inheritance. Everywhere I go and in all I do, the blessing is at work and I turn out right in Jesus name.
