THURSDAY PM UPDATE: Those Who Need Us So Much Tonight, I want to focus on 4 of our rescue residents, specifically, as I really spent a lot of time with each one. They let you know what they need and who they are, if you take the time and really focus. Thank you, for all the great names you have been submitting for the 3 boys- our 2 new Terrier mix boys, who will be neutered tomorrow, and our black with white boy, who was saved from the gas chamber in TN. Then, I want to tell you about our little girl, Ava. Our newest residents- the Terrier boys are scared. They were rescued from horrific circumstances, and lives filled with fear and pain. Still, neither has a mean bone in their body. I sat in the large crate with one of these boys today. He didnt know if I would hurt him, but, when cornered, he simply allowed me to talk to him and pet him. I think these boys could use the TLC of Foster Care. If anyone would like to foster one or both of these boys, after tomorrows neutering, that would be great! They need to learn to trust, probably for the 1st time in their young lives! I believe, based on my experience of them, they can get to a place of trust, with patience and consistent TLC. They are not shut down, but curious and alert. They arent shaking. Just timid. Please share these boys, in the hopes someone will step up to foster these sweet angels who have known only fear and pain. Thank you. Our Black dog with the white strip down the center of his face, and these eyes which will melt your heart, for whom you are finding a name: I sat with this boy in his crate for a long while, to really get to know him, alone, and then, once he came out of the crate, I watched him with all the others- big and small. His best friend was Bella, who was adopted last night. Gerry, who took both of them home every night said, when he realized his friend, Bella wasnt home anymore, he, who is normally very quiet, howled, in sorrow. How sad is that?! This boy, slated to be gassed, is a neutered 2 year old Black Lab mix, who is incredibly mellow, yet, the video on the page of his Tug-O-War with Bella shows how playful he can be. He is great with the others, who, frankly were annoying him- puppies climbing on him, and other dogs who were hyper around him. I was struck by his patience. I was also struck, both in the crate and out, at how obedient he is, when given any command. In the crate, he was so affectionate, giving me lots of kisses and paws. He has such sad eyes. He sorely tempted me to take him home. What a wonderful boy he is. He is all love and loyalty! This is a companion! Please help find him his well deserved Happily Ever After! Lets all share this angel who has so much to give to a family! I absolutely love him! Last, but not least- Ava What a little character she is! She is a spunky, affectionate, lovable little spayed girl. She is one of a kind! She was trying to become the black and white boys new BFF. He isnt over Bella, yet. She is good with everyone, this little optimistic sprite. Happy and loving, she would work in any family, and add lots of love and laughter. Great with everyone. A social butterfly! She is precious! Tomorrow, I will pick names for the 3 boys you are helping me name. They need to have names, and they need to feel loved! Thank you, to all of you who are sharing us and my posts!
