THis beautiful story was sent to us yesterday from a great follower, working at the county courthouse - name withheld for privacy reasons... This young man using a cane limps up to the counter to check in for jury duty today. His paperwork stated that he is a disabled vet (mind you, I dont think he was even 30 years old), I ask if he felt okay to stay today or did want to come back another time with a doctors note? He looks around and states that he cant sit for long periods so as long as he can get up and move around he should be okay. He also stated, off the cuff, that his doctor sucks and cant even get in to see him much less get a note. He told me he was Army & of course I thanked him for his service (as a USMC mom, I immediately felt a tug on my heart). This young soldier took a seat and sat here all morning. Not once, NOT ONCE did he act disrespectful, rude, nasty, hateful, angry, bitter, put-out, bothered, mad, etc. He never said a snide remark, he didnt talk to me as if it was my fault that he was here...nothing, he was just a regular young man here for jury duty. Im telling you about this young man because he was completely UNLIKE the majority of the people we checked in today and HE gave up so much more than any single one of the other jurors we had here today. We are not a perfect country and I know that people dont want to waste their precious time here, I get it, trust me, I get it. But to have a young man, a soldier, show up who was wounded while serving our country, clearly in pain...his life changed forever, sacrifices that we will never know....to show up, to do what he fought for us to continue to have the right to do and be that polite young man....I was, to say the least, so very, VERY proud of him! Thank you mam!! Americanstrong
