Giovanni and I have discussed this dog that we both saw, examined, put hands on (as did Sanna Sanders). to me, he represents the type I prefer and closest IMPO, to the authentic large dog of Tibet. He is powerful, he has BONE, he has a very strong skull, muzzle, lipline WITHOUT being overdone. He was also quite light footed for an older, heavier dog. Also, for an 8 yr old dog, as large and heavily boned/bodied as he is, he was in great condition and has DAMN NICE STRUCTURE. Giovanni sent me a pic of another Shannan type, red gold male but until I Have his permission to use the photo I will just use the b/t pics I took. The red gold male is also Shannan type. Sadly, I do not think I got any pics of that red gold male, I was busy taking pics of dogs, gaiting. I would have gladly taken the b/t home, HE is correct from all angles, IMPO. What is sad is these more original types were taken and exaggerated into what we are seeing today. We are on the same path as the Neopolitans, German Shepherds, Shar Pei, Chow Chow and more. I will fight until my last breath to keep the more authentic dogs in front of judges.
