TICKET ALLOCATION 2015 – OGAE REST OF THE WORLD OGAE - TopicsExpress

TICKET ALLOCATION 2015 – OGAE REST OF THE WORLD OGAE International allocates tickets to each club on a certain formula. If they get 1000 ticket packages and there are 1000 requests, then everybody gets a package. But unfortunately the demand is usually higher than the supply and it will be especially for 2015 – Austria is very central and if it happens to be in VIENNA, we can expect tons of OGAE MEMBERS want to go. The formula will work on the supply from the Austrian broadcaster and then decided by the total membership of OGAE members for 2014. Then each OGAE club will get a % of tickets for its membership. The higher the supply (like 2000 packages from Copenhagen), the higher the % each club will get. For 2012 in Baku, we got 1000 packages but the total demand through OGAE was just for 730 or so packages so everybody got. We fear 2015 a smaller supply and even higher demand than in 2014. For that reason we have a detailed policy of who gets preference on the ticket list. It simple cannot be a first come basis. We sat for several days on this issue and looked at various inputs. We have come up with what we feel is the best solution for our current situation. First of all, we will have a guaranteed list of 10 spots. So people on this list will get tickets if they want to. The list is already drawn up and is as follows SPOT ONE – FRANCISCO SANSIVIERO I forgot now from which Latin American country he is but Francisco bought a package for 2014 but due to personal reasons failed to come to Copenhagen. We could not refund him as he paid the Danish ticket office but we feel extremely sorry for someone who spend a great deal of money and then could not use it, so the club decided that 1 – he will get free membership for life 2 – he will get the top spot on our ticket allocation list for 2015 if he wants to come SPOTS TWO to SIX Our official website is ESCKAZ who works throughout the year to keep up to date on the latest Eurovision news, both in English and in Russian. Andy has 5 workers who help each year at EUROVISION for the two weeks, without pay and these 5 people get a guaranteed ticket set, if they want to. For now, ALL 5 has indicated they want to be on the ticket list, when the city and final dates are announced, we will make these names public. SPOTS SEVEN to TEN OGAE Rest of the world has a new additional website, ESC COVERS which will become more functional in the months to come and will mainly feature the activities of our members/fans and the covering of Eurovision songs in other languages. I am in negotiations with various people and will soon be in the process of appointing 4 people to help me on various aspects of this website and these 4 people will also get a guaranteed ticket allocation if they want to. These names will also be made public. So those are the only ten guaranteed people on the ticket list. We have two more lists, one is the priority list and the other the list of people who want to go to AUSTRIA 2015 but are not on the guaranteed list or the priority list. Both Andy and I are totally against a ticket ballot but we do understand the demand is too high to be met in normal ways, and so there will be a ticket ballot. It will work as follows, once the guaranteed people are off, the remaining allocation will be divided into 70% for the priority list and 30% for the third list. This means that those on the priority list will battle it out for 70% of the allocation and those on the third list, will be in a ticket ballot for the remaining 30% of the allocation. Until we know what our allocation is, it is impossible to say how many ticket packages each group will get. The third list will be automatically new members, people who are paid members for the first time in 2015 plus those who may have been paid members in say 2011 but did not renew membership since, those are regarded as new members as well. On the priority list are those who have been members before 2014 and our priority order is determined through various criteria 1 – the most important is that someone who has been a member from 2006 has a higher priority than someone who joined in 2014. 2 – we will take into account your contribution to the club – we are a fan club, not a ticket office. We know 90% of you have busy lives, work etc but if Eurovision is your hobby, you must spend some time on it, be it 10 minutes every two weeks. We have drawn up a list of things we will look at, a – whether you occasional go and like something we have put on face book b – maybe make a comment once in a while on something c – participation in events we have, like the good luck messages we had this year where just 2 Australian members participated besides the SA members d – not withstanding the fact that we extended the deadline for people to suggest songs for the OGAE SONG CONTEST for 2014, hardly any suggestions came e – once the ESC COVERS website is running and we are highlighting fan activity. It is important that members contribute with say a photo of themselves etc Now we are highlighting just some final aspects of ticket allocation. Nobody of course can come on any of the third lists if he or she has not paid membership for 2015, which will open in a few days and run for 3 months. Membership is individual. If you have a partner, he or she has to become a member as well. Just one person can do payment, but then that person must indicates that he is paying for himself and person B (full name) New members have to supply an ID photo, there are criteria for that and we will give you that detail – OGAE cards are printed in FINLAND and it will probably be done around October or November. It is however, important to send the photo as soon as we make the photo size criteria known because even if you have paid and no OGAE card if issued, you won’t be allowed on the ticket list. It is important that we have an E-mail address for all people on the ticket list, as it could be that we have to send individually the ticket buying code. We do not want to struggle closer to the time trying to find someone. It is therefore your duty to inform us once your e-mail address changes. It is also important for us to have your full name, some of you, including myself, have a different passport name than our face book name. This past year we nearly made a mistake with two members having almost identical names. I feel this covers in detail the ticket allocation policy but if you have any questions, again feel free to ask them. Tomorrow we will make public the membership categories and the pay pal e-mail address.
