TID BIT FOR TODAY : What’s the purpose of Eye Make-Up ? Make up is supposedly used to make you look better, to me it’s like you put a coat of paint on a barn to make it look better. But now days I see women that put on so much make up, if they were in the outside in the rain, their face would run. I have seen ladies with mascara smeared everywhere; no it doesn’t look good (to me). Does the male notice if you are wearing make-up? Well yes, I think so. No way can they miss you, if you are one of those women who paint your face with an industrial size paint roller, then yes, hell yes. I wear makeup almost every day, but it never takes me more than 5 min to put it on, no matter what occasion. Most weekends, it doesn’t matter so I don’t bother. Last night, Crystal or as I call her “Pocahontas,” said to me, Let me make your eyes up, I thought for a few minutes & said, “ok, I’m game.” She worked & worked, it was tilt your head this way & that way, open your eyes, she says, “I love it.” Then let’s put this smoke shadow on your eyes, we went all the way to black liquid eye liner; she spent at least 30 minutes on my eyes. I was praying Lord I hope I can see after this. The more she put on my eyes the more scared I got. During all this time, she would stop again & again saying this looks so good on you, yea right! Finally the terror, I thought, was over but much to my dismay it had only begun. She said, turn around look in the mirror, you are going to love it. All the time I was praying “Lord don’t let this be as bad as I think.” She has worked so hard! Here came Pocahontas with an enlarged mirror, I knew that was going to make it worse.. She said, look & OMG I did. It scared the Hell out of me! I wondered who this creature is; I looked & thought you look like the creature from the Blue Lagoon. Had I not recognized my clothes, I would not have known me. That enlarged mirror showed things, on my eyes I had never seen before; no way have I ever looked like this. Problem with mirror. I had eye shadow up to my eye brows, my eyes look like vampire eyes. All I needed was blood shot eyes, and I would have looked like a creature of the night. But she is young & didn’t have a lot to work with, so I told her beautiful, Lord forgive me for lying. She wanted to take a pic, Oh No, not in this life time. I laughed until I cried, and her with such a serious attitude & looking at me like what is wrong, The more serious she became the funnier it got. NO MORE Pocahontas, I am beautiful just like God made me. Pocahontas is my best friend, and I wouldn’t trade her for the world, but no eye makeup. This was an adventure that was precious!
