TIME FOR MEDIA TO ACKNOWLEDGE SAFE & HAPPY LIMERICK: Ill always be a proud Clare man but having grown up a stones throw from the county boundary with Limerick I also have a great love and affinity for Limerick City. I attended secondary school and college in the City and its where I do most of my socialising. According to newly published crime stats there was no unlawful killing in Limerick in 2014. There were 2 murders in 2012 & 2013 but neither of these were gang related. These stats confirm what I and many many more people in the Mid-West already know; Limerick is for the most part, a very safe, peaceful and happy place! Its high time that Dublin-centred media start to acknowledge this. The positive roles played by An Garda Siochána and the decent community-orientated people of Limerick City should also be recognised.
