TIMORESE VETERANS ATTEND SUNSET SERVICE No 3 Six veterans from Timor-Leste were among those who today laid a wreath at the third consecutive Sunset Service held at the Flame of Remembrance, Kings Park. The veterans were led by Mario Nicolau Dos Reis, who participated in Timors struggle for national liberation. In 1977 he was promoted to commander of a company and rose through the ranks until he was captured and imprisoned from 1980-1997. About 300 people attended the 5pm service which will also be held tomorrow and Thursday. Flt Lieutenant Rob Lahey read to the crowd about Victoria Parks first mayor, Captain Robert Thompson McMaster, who died at Gallipoli at The Nek, aged 49.
