TIP OF THE DAY: Do your long runs between 30 to 90 seconds per mile or more slower than the pace-per-mile you expect to run in the marathon. Notice that I said “or more,” meaning I really do not care how slowly you run as long as you cover the distance. Always be aware that inclement weather can render irrelevant any plans to train at a specific pace. Fatigue from activities related to your life away from running also can be a factor.
