TIP OF THE DAY: Unfortunately, menus like this are all too common. This post is for anyone who owns a failing restaurant or is thinking about getting into the restaurant business. I worked in a restaurants and fine dining for 7 years, so this comes from experience. 1. If you post your menu online, make sure its worth reading. After reading this one, I know that I would never eat here. Theres nothing inventive at all. Weve seen all of this before. One of the first things that pops out is the beer list. Really bad. Make sure to get some beers that pair well with your food. These beers really dont pair with anything— except regret. 2. Why does every restaurant feel the need to have a kids menu? Just because parents only feed their kids chicken nuggets and grilled cheese sandwiches, doesnt mean you have to accommodate them. Change hearts and minds. 3. $1.95 for water? Really? We know that it costs you a penny, so lighten up. You shouldnt charge that much for a Coke. Besides, if you had a better beer selection we wouldnt even be checking out this section. 4. Fried Pickles, Cheese Sticks, Jalapeno Poppers. *YAWN* If youre going to have these crappy restaurant staples on your app list then youd better reinvent them. Bread and Butter Pickles Tempura, maybe? Buffalo Mozzarella Stix, perhaps? Goat Cheese Habanero Poppers might be tasty? BE ORIGINAL.
