TIP of the Day: Foot and hand care I know that this may sound like a weird thing to be discussing but if youre going to be in this business it is imperative that you take care of your money makers and that is your body. What parts of your body do you fail to care for the most-most likely your hands and feet. First off if your a female - DO NOT WEAR HIGH HEELS ALL THE TIME. There are muscles, tendons, ligaments within your feet and your legs that can be damaged due to long and constant wearing of high heels. Think about it. We were not designed to run/walk on the balls of our feet all day every day. Give them a break so you can keep your pretty feet and not have to worry about bunions, hammer toes, or fungus. Pay attention to your socks. Avoid nylon socks or blends try to stick with cotton or even cashmere socks-they breathe easier. Wear them often to protect your feet even when you are walking around the house. When it comes to your hands wear gloves to protect them. They have sleeping gloves that are wonderful to wear when you are...sleeping after you heavily laden your hands with a good lotion. Youll be amazed on how soft and youthful your hands will look after a couple of weeks of treating them well. During your morning shower wash your feet with a non-drying soap , exfoliate with a good scrub and some elbow grease )on your chosen day of the week, the same day you exfoliate your body/face makes it easier), then dry your feet off well and apply a lotion/cream that has either eucalyptus or peppermint oil in it as these will kill fungus naturally. For your hands use a lotion that is aloe, lanolin, or glycerin based with secondary ingredients like calendula, avocado, and oatmeal are also very helpful. Toenails should be trimmed every 3-4 weeks, they grow slower than our fingernails do but it is very important to get a cuticle pusher as this also helps to keep fungus at bay. Do this with your fingernails also as it keeps them healthy, harder for fungus to settle in, and nicer to polish. USE A NAILBRUSH and keep your nails clean. Youll be amazed how many people have crud under their nails and people do notice this. If all of this seems to be too daunting just find yourself a good strong manicurist to do your nails and feet at least once a month. I bet you look at your hands and feet in a whole different view now. Plus, a trained manicurist will massage the tension out of your feet and hands/arms which is an added bonus. Mac out~
